Fantastic Summer Club News

What happened when Supertato visited Greenhill Library?

Supertato made a special visit to Greenhill Library with his author Sue Hendra.

Sue gave him his own library card...

... and it wasn't long before he was off, excitedly browsing the shelves...

He found his favourite book... of course!...

... and off he went to check it out at our kiosks...

The Supertato workshops

A big thank you to all the local schools and families who took part in our Supertato workshops for the launch of our new Fantastic Summer Club (FSC).

We had a further 168 participants in our Veggie Superhero making sessions, creating Superheroes (and Supervillains) from courgettes, peppers, cucumbers, pineapples and potatoes, with the lucky families also having the chance to meet Supertato himself!

With thanks Sue Hendra, Simon & Schuster Children’s Books and the team at Rainbow Productions for supporting our Supertato activities.

Comic Art Masterclass

Beano and Marvel comic artist and author Kev F also visited Harrow for the launch of the FSC, hosting his Comic Art Masterclass and reaching an incredible 1000 KS2 children.  Whitchurch Primary school met Kev F in person for follow-up day of comic-making mayhem, creating their own comic strips in an exclusive fanzine style comic.

Here are some of the results from the children at Whitchurch Primary School:

And all of this in the first week of the FSC!

Stay tuned for news of our Spellcasters workshop with poet Rachel Lewis and upcoming visits from The Royal Collection Trust, dynamic drama duo Cat and Hutch, Manga Masterclasses with Froggy Manga and the return of our Creative Writing Workshops with top wordsmith Richard Neville.
