Description:
Join us for a fascinating talk - staged during London Festival of Architecture - exploring the history and architecture of St Mary’s Church, Harrow on the Hill.
St Mary’s Church is Harrow’s oldest building and one of its most iconic landmarks. With its hilltop location and centuries of history, the church has long been at the heart of the community. The name Harrow itself comes from the Anglo-Saxon word hearg, meaning a place of worship — a fitting tribute to a site that has served as a centre of local life for over 900 years.
Local resident and Communications Officer at St Mary’s, Judith Shepherd, will share some of the amazing stories she has gathered about the church, the vicarage, and other nearby historic buildings.
